In my last post I promised some pictures, but it took me a couple of days to find the memory card from my camera – thanks to Phill for “borrowing” it and not putting it back LOL
First a couple of catch up photos on a couple of WIPs. South Seas Lace is a SAL with Claire and Vikki, but lately it’s been a bit more of a Non SAL for me. At the moment I’m just about halfway through the design.

Sampler Cove’s Ribbon Sampler is next, I managed to get a few hours stitching in on this recently, but it is stitched on 40 count fabric so the progress isn’t very obvious!

Next up, a couple of new starts. Firstly, Travelling Stitcher by Little House Needleworks. I have finished the needlekeep part of the design and yesterday started on the main part.

Lastly, another SAL, this time with my sister Sheila – Celtic Welcome by Polstitches Designs. There will be a slight difference in our finishes, Sheila is stitching the Welsh version so hers will say Croeso instead of Welcome. We thought it would be interesting if we each started with a different dragon, so she is starting on the red dragon and I am starting on the white dragon. She has posted her first pic on her blog and it looks great so far, unfortunately I had trouble taking a good photo as the light coloured stitching doesn’t show up too well on the fabric.

And finally, one last photo – a very rare photo LOL. Last week there were signs that Mia was calming down a little, unfortunately she was just teasing and since then she has been absolutely crazy. She is teething and is biting anything and everything at the moment. At the weekends, if the weather is dry, she gets to go outside while we potter around in the garden – our back garden is totally enclosed so she can’t get out, but she has had a couple of scary moments when she climbed up a conifer tree and couldn’t work out how to get down LOL. Her kitty instincts soon kicked in though and now she runs up and down the trees with no problem at all. The best part of her getting some exercise comes later on in the day when we sit down to relax……

She stayed in this position for over an hour, and would probably have stayed there a lot longer, but Phill had to get up and move around LOL

Thank you to all who left comments to my last post. I am really pleased with the way Cirque des Triangles turned out, and even more pleased that I managed to finish it relatively quickly, considering how many other things I have also been stitching on.
As a little treat to myself last night I started Ribbon Sampler by Sampler Cove Designs while watching Andy Murray at Wimbledon. This is stitched on 40 count fabric, over two threads, using one strand of floss. This is the smallest fabric I have stitched on so far and I have to say it was a lot easier than I thought it would be and I can see me using 40 count a lot more in the future. I’m sure that when I pick something up that is 28 count it’s going to look huge

Sorry it’s quite a dark picture, but hopefully the next one will show the colours of the threads better.

Finally, my sister Sheila had a bad stitching experience at the weekend – pop over to her blog and share her pain!

This is the SAL that Claire and I are working on, but it could also relate to the amount of stitching I’ve done in the last couple of weeks! Like most stitchers, I always get less done in the summer months, especially when the weather is fine, as there’s just lots of other things around the house/garden that need doing.
I did actually manage to make a little progress on our SAL this week though, and here’s a pic of the fat cat…

I bought a chart quite a few weeks ago called Ribbon Sampler by Sampler Cove, it’s part of the Rhapsody in Red series. The series includes the Ribbon Sampler and lots of stitching accessories.

The design is stitched on 40ct Newcastle linen with one thread and is a large design, being just over 17 inches x 17 inches when finished. I ordered the fabric and threads this week, I have chosen some Hand Dyed Fibers. Fabric and threads arrived yesterday and they look gorgeous!

The pics are a bit gloomy as they were taken early this morning when it was still quite dark in the house but the threads are a gorgeous reddy/dark terracotta sort of colour that will look amazing in my lounge. I’ve made working copies of the chart, enlarged onto A3 size paper LOL. I really want to start this now but I am being very patient and have decided that this will replace Cirque des Triangles as my Saturday project once I have finished that.
I’m off to get the housework done now as I am working five day weeks for the next three weeks, instead of having Monday off each week, so instead of having a three day weekend to get everything done I’ll have to squeeze it into two. BUT, I am extremely happy to be working the extra days because the reason behind the overtime is the fact that my boss is going away on holiday – yipppeeeeee! Also, I get three days more pay this month
Have a great weekend everybody!
